6 beneficiaries.  8 community partners. 6 sponsors. 2,000+ compassionate athletes. 422,819 lbs of food collected and 1 BIG Heart!

This year, thousands of Burlington athletes — including 750+ CUDAS — came together to make a difference at the 12th Annual Gift of Giving Back Food Drive — the largest food drive of its kind in Canada.

Thanks to all of you, we raised an astounding 33,500+ lbs. of food! In two days, together with our partners (Burlington Eagles, Burlington Cougars, BOMBA Baseball, M.M Robinson, Burlington Mall, FirstOntario Credit Union and the Burlington Fire Department), we collected 422,819 pounds of food!

Due to your outstanding efforts, we were able to fill the cupboards of our community partners: The Salvation Army, Carpenter Hospice, Halton Women's Place, Food for Live, Burlington Food Bank and the Compassion Society.

We'd like to thank everyone for their incredible hard work including our dedicated Food Captain Coordinators, Jenn Zinn, Debbie Hawke-Wende and Michelle Robert, who worked tirelessly to motivate our CUDAS. To the Team Food Drive Captains who donated so much of their time  your leadership, enthusiasm and commitment is truly valued.

To our volunteers who worked hard to collect, sort, carry and weigh the food, thank you! Our CUDAS brought their ‘A’ game and readily accepted any task assigned to them. The commitment from our players was unmistakeable with a sea of blue and orange jerseys racing around the food bins!

Now for what you have been patiently waiting for — our Rep and House League teams who collected the most food to win a team pizza party!  Way to go NOVICE!

Novice B  with 3,508.10 lbs

Novice Team 6 Purple with 1,421.5 lbs

Winners: Stay Tuned for information about  your prizes and how to claim them!

Together - we truly made a difference. Well done CUDAS!!
