Notice of Annual General Meeting and Board Positions

The Annual General Meeting (“AGM”) of the Burlington Girls Hockey Club (“BGHC”)  will be held on Tuesday, May 14th at 7:00 p.m. at the Appleby Arena Community Room.  Registration for members attending the meeting will commence at 6:30 p.m. so please arrive early to allow the meeting to commence on time.  


2019 BGHC AGM AGENDA 

1.) Presentation of the agenda
2.) Approval of the minutes of the 2018 Annual General 
3.) Meeting Approval of the April 2018  financial statements 
4.) Reappointment of the auditor
5.) Approval of slate of nominees/elected directors for 2019-2020 Board of Directors
6.) Adjournment


Note:  Following the adjournment of the "official" component of the AGM, there will be an informal period for discussion, led by the Chair.

 

The following Director positions are up for election at the AGM this year:

 

  1. President – 2-year term

  2. VP Hockey Operations – 2-year term

  3. Director Competitive* – 2-year term

  4. Director of House League*  – 2-year term

  5. Director of Promotion and Communications* – 2-year term

*Incumbent is not submitting their nomination

 

Nomination Process

Please find attached the duties and responsibilities of the above roles.  To submit your name for one of these roles, refer to the BGHC website at https://bghc.ca/ RESOURCES tab for a nomination form as well as a description of duties for each of the roles.

Nominations will close as of midnight on May 12, 2019.  Where multiple nominees are received, they will be contacted the following day and will be informed as to the number (not names) of other nominees and that if they wish, they can request time to address the membership prior to the vote on the evening of the meeting.  Nominees will have a maximum of 2 minutes to speak. Nominees can withdraw once contacted, if they prefer.
