Burlington Girls Hockey Club (BGHC) Partners with Al’s Source for Sports and Bauer Hockey to Expand Opportunities for Young Players through their “Grow the Game” Initiative
Burlington, Ontario [Date] — The Burlington Girls Hockey Club (BGHC) is proud to announce a partnership with Al’s Source for Sports and Bauer Hockey to advance the BGHC’s "Grow the Game" initiative. This collaboration aims to create equal opportunities for young girls in Burlington by eliminating barriers to participation, fostering inclusivity, and nurturing their development through the sport of hockey.
The heart of this partnership lies in the commitment to introduce more girls to the sport. Through “Grow the Game”, 250 Initiation Program (IP) players between the ages of 4 and 6 will have the chance to participate for an entire season, free of charge. This remarkable endeavor seeks to address the under-representation of girls in sports and cultivate a passion for hockey that will extend for years to come.
Al’s Source for Sports is working with Bauer Hockey to generously reduce the cost of equipment for the 250 IP players who have registered through "Grow the Game”. This critical support ensures that each young player has access to the necessary gear, further enabling their participation and enjoyment of the sport.
"Our partnership with Al’s and Bauer signifies a significant step forward in our ongoing mission to empower young girls through sport," said Will Short, BGHC President. "With Al’s and Bauer’s support, we are not only breaking down financial barriers but also creating a welcoming environment where girls can experience the joys of hockey without hindrance. This partnership aligns seamlessly with our vision for a more inclusive future for girls’ hockey."
“We are so proud to be a part of this great initiative,” Said Chris McMillan, Owner Al’s Source for Sports. “Al’s Source for Sports truly values the partnership we have with the BGHC and to see first-hand how this association has grown over the years has been amazing. We look forward to continuing our relationship and being a sponsor, supporter and supplier to the Burlington Barracudas for the coming years!”
