General Information
Welcome to
the Burlington Girls Hockey Club, home of the Barracudas. Our competitive program strives to develop young
athletes who have a strong desire to compete against the best female hockey players in Ontario. Over the years
the BGHC has placed players on the NCAA (D1,D3) teams and CIS teams,on Team Ontarioandat the
National level. This all starts with our non-competitive Timbit league and continues on to the Provincial
Women’s Hockey League (Junior). In fact, the Burlington Barracudasis one of only a handful of
Ontario organizations that run teams at the highest level in all age categories, from Novice through to
Junior.
We want our
athletes and their families to enjoy the experience, the friendships, the one on one time traveling to games,
and to remember - it is only a game

Considering
Rep Hockey
The Rep
program process commences in April each year with tryouts held for teams for the following season. The
dates of tryouts vary from year-to-year. Generally all members receive an email in early to mid March
announcing the tryout process and directing them to Registration.
Details of
the anticipated teams and the appointed coaches for those teams will start to be posted on the REP PROGRAM tab
in late December through late February. Parents are encouraged to speak with coaches and ask
questions.
Time Commitment: The main season runs September through early April. Depending on the team,
girls can expect 2 practices and 2 games per week at a minimum. Many teams add conditioning training and
additional on-ice extra skill development practices. All REP teams participate in the Lower Lakes Female
Hockey League (LLFHL), playing a 22-game season from early October through end of January, followed by playoffs
and provincial play downs. Team will also participate in up to 6 tournaments per season, generally at
least one of which involves an out-of-town hotel stay.
Fees: Fees have ranged from about $2,200 + personal expenses at the Novice age group to $4,000 +
personal expenses at the older age groups and higher levels.
More specific information will be received from the team coach at the start of the tryout process.
