U11BB Head Coach – Anne-marie Taylor – [email protected]
Anne-marie is currently the Head Coach of the U13B team and is excited to take on the U11BB team for the 2025-2026 season! This will be her fifth year working with the BGHC, previously supporting House League teams as a Trainer and on-ice instructor. She also has spent six years with her son's team as Trainer and on-ice support at both the Select and MD levels with BLOMHA. Anne-marie has extensive coaching experience, working with athletes of all abilities. She focuses on developing the entire athlete and strives to provide a positive yet challenging environment. Anne-marie has an extensive sports background including Varsity Figure Skating, Rep Softball, Rugby, and loves to golf.
U13BB Head Coach – Allison Bye – [email protected]
Allison Bye is entering her 3rd year of coaching in the BGHC. Previously the coach of the U11BB and current and previous coach of numerous girls high school sports. She is passionate about fostering a supportive and empowering environment, motivating and energizing young girls to not only stay engaged in the sport of hockey but also to enhance their skills.
U15BB Head Coach – Sherry Beard – [email protected]
Currently serving as the head coach for the U13BB team, Sherry enters her fourth year with BGHC. Originating from Manitoba, she boasts a hockey background that includes representation in two Canadian Western Shield Championships and one Esso Women’s Nationals. With five years’ coaching experience at Girls Hockey Calgary, Sherry skillfully combines playing insights and coaching acumen for effective player development.
U18BB1 Head Coach – Craig Valiquette – [email protected]
Craig Valiquette is currently the head coach of the U18BB2 team. Craig has over 20 years of coaching experience including 11 years with the Barracudas. Craig's coaching philosophy has always focused on team first and developing an inclusive environment to allow the players to maximize their potential.
U18BB2 Head Coach – Russ Mergelas – [email protected]
Coach Russ is returning for his 10th year as a head or assistant coach within the BGHC. His experience at all levels, from B to AA has provided him with insight into what motivates various types of players. Coach Russ is dedicated to fostering a strong, supportive team culture built on accountability, mutual respect, and helping teammates succeed. On the ice, he focuses on improving hockey IQ, running fast-paced practices, and, most importantly, ensuring that fun is always at the forefront.
