U9B1 Head Coach – Rob Tarantino – [email protected]

Rob is the current U9B1 Head Coach. He is a former NCAA Division 1 player at RIT.  He has been involved in coaching previously with the Mississauga Reps in the GTHL.  Rob has two daughters who play in the BGHC and he looks forward to working with the players and families to help each girl's development.

U9B2 Head Coach – Kelsey Fox – [email protected]

Kelsey grew up in Burlington and played Burlington hockey for many years. She went on to study Police Foundations and is currently pursuing a career in policing. After college, Kelsey began coaching girls’ hockey in Burlington, where she enjoyed sharing her love for the sport with young athletes. She coached for four years before taking a break to start a family. Now that her daughter is playing, Kelsey has decided to return to coaching. She has two children who both play hockey and lacrosse in Burlington.

U9B3 Head Coach – Paul Reid – [email protected]

Paul will be joining the Barracudas as a head coach for the first time after having been an Assistant Coach in the organization between 2013 and 2018, ranging from U13BB to U18A.  Paul also has experience in both the BLOMHA and Eagles organizations in Head Coaching and Assistant roles with most recent focus turned to development at the initiation level.  He brings a passion for the sport of hockey after a lifetime of playing turned to coaching and a philosophy of developing both the athlete and the person.  Effort and Attitude are in each player’s control and that has been a key focus in every team Paul has coached.  He looks forward to helping develop the next wave of Barracudas.

U11B Head Coach – David Russel – [email protected]

David moved to Burlington at three months of age and have never lived anywhere else. He grew up playing minor hockey in Burlington, went to school, and met his wife in Burlington. Both his kids were born in Burlington. And most recently, he started his hockey coaching career in Burlington! David has a strong connection to the City – it’s just a great place – and hopes to create memories for his kids that are similar to the great ones he and his wife already share. As a coach, David wants the kids to enjoy coming to the rink. He wants to create a fun and positive team atmosphere where the kids work hard to improve and develop both on and off the ice. He believes kids that are having fun while learning the game forge friendships and connections that stay with them. And these connections in turn support their journey into becoming better hockey players and even better people. David is excited for the season to get started and to being working with the team!

U13B Head Coach – Tom Brown – [email protected]

This will be Tom's first year as a Head Coach in the BGHC, but he has many years of experience in the BGHC, BLOHMA and the Eagles in both Head and Assistant Coach roles. Tom believes in focusing on continued skills and skating development that will support a style of play focused on puck pursuit and possession. He also believes it's equally important that the girls have a positive experience every time they are together as a team. Tom has an extensive background in hockey. He played 3 years in the OHL and was drafted by the Boston Bruins in 1996. He played professional hockey in both the East Coast Hockey League and the British National League. He also won a National Championship with Western University and rounded out his hockey career playing locally for the Dundas Real McCoy's.
