BGHC 2018-2019 Rep Coach Appointments

The BGHC is pleased to announce the following coaches for the 2018-2019 Hockey Season!

John Brown | Peewee A

A five-year Barracudas coach in both rep and house league divisions, John is currently the Peewee BB Head Coach for the 2017-2018 hockey season. His coaching philosophy is to provide a fun, fair, safe and supportive environment that encourages and motivates aspiring players to achieve their goals.  John believes in learning life lessons through sport and is committed to developing challenging drills, individual and team skills, varied practices and fun games that help build teamwork, strength, character and a sense of accomplishment.  John can be reached at [email protected]


Marty Savoy Peewee BB

A nine-year Barracudas coach in both rep and house league divisions, Marty is currently the Atom BB Head Coach, a Midget HL Assistant Coach and a BLOMHA IP Instructor for his 6 year old son.  Commissioner of the Ontario Junior Hockey League, proud father to three Barracudas hockey players and a former Junior Hockey Player, Marty brings a wealth of knowledge and key insights to the BGHC.  An incredible brand ambassador and supporter of girls hockey, Marty recognizes the significance of positively developing our young athletes during their formative years and the importance of cultivating a love for the game of hockey. Michael Burton Novice B

A dedicated Barracudas hockey dad, Michael has been an Assistant Coach for the CUDAS, BLOMHA, Bulldogs and the ORHL Minor Atom Cougars for more than six years. Fuelled by passion and enjoyment, Michael embraces the mantra "Success is a Journey, not a destination."  He is committed to growing our players by teaching them life skills including the importance of team work, the desire to deliver your best and above all, have fun.  Michael can be reached at [email protected]     


Chris Douridas Atom A

Currently the Novice B coach, Chris has lead this incredible team to three gold medal wins this season.  Chris's coaching philosophy is to create a safe, fun and positive atmosphere where players arrive at the rink excited and ready to play and learn Canada's favourite sport.  He promotes teamwork and fair competitive play with a commitment to helping girls develop and become stronger players.  Chris can be reached at [email protected]


Andy Harkness Atom 3 (BB/B)

Currently the Atom BB Assistant Coach, Andy has developed his coaching skills under the mentorship of Marty Savoy.  He is dedicated to inspiring our young athletes to believe in themselves and build team spirit.  Committed to fair play, Andy believes players learn from failures and mistakes along with success and he will coach to challenge girls to be better players and ultimately, a better and stronger team.  Andy can be reached at [email protected]
