OWHA Vaccination Update September 17th, 2021
Hello Cudas Families,
The OWHA has released an updated statement regarding vaccination status for the upcoming 2021-22 season. The full release can be reviewed in the link below.
Effective September 22nd, 2021
All eligible patrons entering a facility as a spectator must provide proof of full vaccination along with a valid form of identification.
Players under 18 years of age who are entering the indoor premises of a facility used for sports and recreational fitness activities solely for the purpose of actively participating in an organized sport, are exempt from providing proof of vaccination, at this time.
Proof of identification and proof of being fully vaccinated is not required for coaches and officials, at this time.
The OWHA does point out that PHUs, municipalities, arenas and facilities have the authority to be more restrictive and that some are being more restrictive than the requirements noted in information linked above. This may mean that OWHA players and teams may be able to practice or play in 1 facility but may not be permitted to enter other facilities without complying with different local or facility requirements. The best way to ensure access into a facility is to be fully vaccinated and carry proof and identification with you.
The BGHC Board of Directors will be attending a conference call with the City of Burlington on Monday, September 20th and with the OWHA on Wednesday, September 22nd. We are hopeful that, following these calls, the BGHC will be able to provide further clarity regarding questions that may not have been addressed in the statement above.
In the meantime, we would encourage you to reach out the OWHA directly [email protected] with further questions or inquiries.
